New mini litter Arrived in March!!!
Our puppies and pregnant and nursing moms eat Hills Science Diet Small Breed Puppy Small Bites that we get from our veterinarian. We also give PurinaOne Lamb and Rice Puppy Canned food. Our Adults get their fill of raw meat 2-3 days a week, and on alternate days eat a high protein All Stages Dogfood with added chicken broth and other goodies.
CATS
Our pups grow up well socialized. Our cats have the run of the ranch and spend most of their time around our dogs. Our pups grow up very positively socialized with cats, so they will be ready to bond with cats in their new homes.
DOGS
We have a small pack of adult dogs including two large breed dogs. All our young puppies are socialized with all our adult dogs and older puppies, so they learn how to behave around other dogs and get along in multi dog households.
CHILDREN
Our puppies are also raised around small children so they will be ready to become part of families who have children.
Our pups get to grow up around our beautiful Angora rabbits.
WE DO NOT DOCK TAILS. We believe that a dog's tail is extremely important for balance and agility, and for turning tight corners when running. We believe that removing a tail simply for aesthetic reasons is mutilation.
Many of our breeding stock have docked tails. This is because unfortunately they were already done when we aquired them.
We do occasionally co-own a litter with another kennel. Or we may receive a pick of the litter puppy from another kennel which was sired by one of our dogs. And in some cases we may offer that puppy for sale. In those instances the puppy's tails may already be docked before they come to our ranch. That is the only reason we ever offer a puppy with a docked tail for sale.
WE HAVE NEVER DOCKED TAILS, AND WE WILL NEVER DOCK TAILS unless there is a medical necessity to do so.
We usually litter box train our puppies. This works amazingly well. We start litter training in infancy to give our pups the best start in life.
We use pine bedding pellets for litter which is safe for dogs, and cement mixing pans for litter boxes. When the puppies go to their new homes we encourage the new owners to provide them the same so that they know where it is ok to go. At first, the litter pan is placed in the puppy's living area, but it is soon
soon towards the door, and eventually placed beside the door and later outside the door and still later in the yard. Eventually the litter pan is no longer needed.
